The University of Ottawa Journal of Medicine (UOJM) is proud to officially open the call for submissions for the first edition of the UOJM National 3-Minute Thesis Competition.
All graduate and medical students from universities across Canada are invited to submit an original video (180 seconds, in English or in French) vulgarizing their current biomedical or health-related research project.
Submissions will be stratified by language and level of education, and ranked separately. The top two submissions IN EACH CATEGORY and LANGUAGE will receive monetary prizes: first prize of $500 and 2nd prize of $250. A $500 award will be given for the most creative submission overall. The winning submissions will be showcased on the UOJM’s social media accounts and website.
*Kindly note that, if applicable, your supervisor must have reviewed and approved the final version of your submission.
Submissions will be judged on clarity of communication of their project (background, results and conclusions) in a lay manner. Also, novelty and impact of thesis/project. The decision of the judges is final.
To participate, kindly send your submissions using the present form by Tuesday, May 24th, at 11:59 p.m. Please note that an email confirmation will be sent to you after you submit your application.
Feel free to email contact@uojm.ca if you have any questions.
